This business writing course, offered by our accredited school partners, is designed to help students become more effective and persuasive communicators and focuses on the written and verbal skills they need to succeed in business.

English Composition I
This course focus on developing written communication skills with an emphasis on understanding the writing process, analyzing readings, and practicing writing for personal and professional applications.

English Composition II
This course builds on lessons learned in English Composition I. In addition to reviewing the writing process, students learn research techniques, citation techniques, documentation formats, and critical analysis of written topics.

Developmental Writing
Developmental Writing is a twelve-lesson course that introduces the fundamental tools and techniques adult learners will need to use to write clear sentences, effective paragraphs, and well-organized essays for general education courses and employment settings. Students will develop an understanding about how to organize, clarify, and communicate written ideas, and about how to use correct sentence structure, grammar, and parts of speech in written communication. Students will also develop skills in writing in Standard American English, and in revising and editing to clarify voice, tone, style, and mode.

Communicating Collaboratively
In most organizational settings, you’ll be expected to work in teams. At times, your team members may not be physically in the same office with you. And yet, communicating effectively within these teams is critical to the success of the team, and critical to your personal success on any given project or task. This introductory-level course will help you improve your collaborative communication by providing best practices and effective tips and techniques.
