Environmental Science involves the interdisciplinary approach to our world in terms of the history of environmental concerns, biomes, species interaction with each other and their environment, air, water, soil and biological resources, population dynamics, toxicology, energy sources, land use management and other related topics. All different sciences combine to make up the complexities of environmental science and students embarking on this journey will gain a comprehensive understanding of how these interconnected disciplines all interact to create the environment we occupy. Students will take an in-depth look at the function of this planet earth, its atmosphere, composition and structure as well as the inhabitants that occupy it.
Our Going Green course will teach students simple, budget-friendly ways to help them and their families live a healthier, more planet-friendly lifestyle. With step-by-step instruction, our students will access uncomplicated solutions to help them conserve, reduce, reuse, and recycle, and, thus, minimize impact on the planet. They will discover that even small changes make a difference and that going green is good for our health, the planet, and even our budgets.
This Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate exam prep course provides a solid background in green building principles and practices in preparation for the LEED Green Associate credentialing exam. Information on exam policies and procedures, tips for effective studying, and an overview of the LEED credentialing process is also discussed. The LEED Green Associate credential demonstrates basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations and is used to enhance any number of careers. Students will learn strategies for securing sustainable sites and building materials, forming efficient water and energy systems, combining utility, comfort and quality, reducing waste, and creating innovative designs.
